Privacy Policy for Microsoft Edge
Last updated:September 3, 2026
This policy primarily explains how the ARC'TYNOVA Desk extension for Microsoft Edge, its supporting website, and related cloud services handle information. Operator identity details will be updated when company registration is complete and before paid billing opens.
1. Information we handle
For registration and sign-in, we process your email address, verification-code request records, password-derived proof, device identifier, sessions, and account settings. We do not store, synchronize, or return plaintext passwords.
When you submit a Team, early-access, partnership, feedback, or product-message interaction, we process the information you provide and the status needed to handle it.
2. WhatsApp and local device data
To provide translation, customer region, CRM, labels, reminders, phrases, and quick files, the extension reads the WhatsApp Web content and page state related to the conversation you are actively using.
Local customer records, local phrases, local quick files, and translation cache stay in extension-owned browser storage by default. Local processing is still disclosed here. We do not sell conversations or use them to build advertising profiles.
3. Cloud features and processors
When you choose cloud translation, speech recognition, AI replies, account sync, cloud phrases, terminology, or cloud quick files, the text, audio, file, settings, or context required for that feature is sent over an encrypted connection to the ARC'TYNOVA Desk API and may be processed by the provider needed for that request.
Current infrastructure and feature providers may include Cloudflare, Google Cloud Translation, DeepL, and Resend. Only a provider that is enabled and necessary for the selected request receives the required data. Changing engines does not reprocess cached history; only new requests or an explicit refresh use the new engine.
4. Arc Translate private business memory and learning
“Help Arc Translate understand your business” is enabled by default and covers translation across the entire ARC'TYNOVA Desk platform, including WhatsApp Desk, Desk Commerce, Desk Global, and future products connected to Arc Translate. Within the account or business workspace, we store normalized translation requests, translations, languages, terminology matches, provider sources, and necessary quality records to reduce repeated translation and keep terminology consistent. A private-memory hit does not call an external translation provider or consume translation quota again; keeping this feature enabled can significantly reduce translation quota usage.
Public contribution for global learning is a separate optional authorization, independent from the basic terms and private memory, and is off by default. Eligible content can enter the general pool only after an organization administrator deliberately opts in to the displayed consent version and the content passes irreversible de-identification and safety review. Administrators may withdraw public contribution, disable private learning separately, or delete private memory at any time in Account Center: https://account.arctynovadesk.com/#arc-translate.
5. Purpose, retention, and security
We process information only to provide accounts, translation, synchronization, files, support, security, quota metering, and in-product notices. Except for private translation memory, content a user saves, or separately authorized learning candidates, our API does not retain translated message text as chat history; operational logs are minimized to metadata such as request ID, time, quantity, provider, and error category.
Account and user-saved cloud data remain while the account is active. Codes, sessions, temporary attachments, and diagnostics use shorter expiry or feature-specific cleanup. When law, disputes, or security investigations require retention, other processing is restricted and safeguards remain in place. Cloud traffic uses HTTPS.
6. Your controls and rights
You can disable automatic translation, private business learning, customer region, voice, or AI features; clear private translation memory; keep quick files only on your device; sign out; and revoke device sessions. You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information.
Before deleting an account and cloud data, we verify identity and check security, transaction, or legal records that must be retained. A submitted request receives a reference and status tracking. You may withdraw it while its status remains submitted.
- Data-rights request page: /data-rights
- If signed out, first use the website account entry or the verified contact route on the website.
7. Microsoft Edge Add-ons data use
ARC'TYNOVA Desk for Microsoft Edge accesses only the data needed for translation, customer workflows, user-selected synchronization, and support. We use data only for visible user features, security, reliability, and support—not personalized advertising, credit assessment, data brokerage, or undisclosed third-party purposes. Required permissions, browser-page access, local storage, cloud processors, and user opt-out controls are disclosed in this policy.
8. Children, international processing, and updates
The product is intended for business users and is not directed to children. Service providers may process necessary data outside your region; applicable contractual, security, and data-minimization safeguards are used.
We update this policy and its date when features, providers, or legal requirements change. Material changes may be announced on the website, through extension messages, or through an available account contact method.
